Smart Travel in 4 Steps
It’s important to be prepared no matter where the journey takes you. Planning ahead will exponentially save you time and sanity on a trip. That’s why we invented the Eagle Creek Travel System: A 4-step process to help you prepare for your next trip.
Step 1: Pick the Right Travel Bag
Whether it’s a rolling bag, lightweight backpack, big duffel, or travel backpack you need the right bag for your trip. Top considerations when making a decision are length of trip and mode of transportation. If you’re traveling from town-to-town on a camel for instance, you may want to consider a lightweight backpack. If renting a home in the Maldives for a few weeks, take a large rolling bag. If a prop plane or sailboat enters the itinerary, wheels may not be an option. Check with your tour operator if unsure of bag restrictions.
Step 2: Pack-It™ System: Because an Organized Traveler is a Happy Traveler
Let’s face it, you may or may not be the most organized person at home. But on the road, there’s nothing better than opening up your bag and knowing exactly where to find that green shirt or your other sock. Eagle Creek’s Pack-It™ Folders, Cubes and Sacs, and toiletry kits are the perfect solution for organizing any bag. Roll your shirts, shorts and undergarments and compress them in a Pack-It™ Cube. If you are packing bulky items, compress them with a Compression Sac. Keep your dress clothes wrinkle-free in a Pack-It™ Folder. Use a Pack-It™ Sac for cords, playing cards and those little things that tend to migrate to the bottom of your bag. Whatever you take with you, a packing system will make fitting everything inside your bag a lot easier.
Step 3: Don’t Forget the Necessities
Be ready for anything with the right accessories. From a travel pillow to a neck wallet or TSA friendly lock, travel necessities may be small, but they are mighty. Before leaving on a trip, think through the different stages of your journey, from getting to the airport and boarding a plane, to arriving at your destinations and your daily activities. Think about where are you staying and what will you be doing. Locks, luggage tags and an Undercover™ wallet will be all too important on your journey.
Step 4: A Day Traveler™ Travel Bag: Your Perfect Companion
You’ll spend more time with your day bag than with anything else on your trip. For that reason, be sure to find a bag that fits your needs and preferences. Traveling with a laptop? A Checkpoint Friendly bag may be the right choice for you. Find yourself collecting lots of things during the day? A tote or large bag may work best. Tend to be a minimalist? Try a smaller, more discrete day bag. Whatever your style, be sure your bag is comfortable and organized for your journey.
Some of the best moments when traveling come quite unexpectedly, so look around and take it in. Being prepared frees you to enjoy the adventure of the journey unfolding around you. Don’t worry - we’ll take care of your stuff.
