Luggage Trade-In Program to Benefit Homeless and Abused Women
September 18, 2007
Close to 800,000 people are homeless on any given night in the United States, while more than 50 percent of all homeless women and children are fleeing domestic violence situations. In response, Eagle Creek, a leading maker of innovative travel gear, launches the third annual Luggage Trade-In Program; collecting wheeled luggage to benefit local homeless populations.
From October 1st to November 15th, customers can turn in their clean, empty and usable wheeled luggage to a participating luggage or outdoor retailer, which will then be received by homeless and women's shelters in the retailer's communities. As an additional incentive for supporting the less fortunate, customers who trade-in luggage will receive an instant $25 off a wheeled Eagle Creek product.
Our Luggage Trade-In Program has proved to be of great benefit for all involved, first for the shelters and those with the greatest needs in our customers' communities, said Eagle Creek President and Founder Steve Barker. It provides a sustainable way for old luggage to be used again while giving our customers a gift for their generosity.
To date, nearly 300 authorized Eagle Creek dealers have signed up to participate in the 2007 Luggage Trade-In Program. To assist the retail participants, Eagle Creek is providing a comprehensive marketing support package.
