Launching National Promotions To Drive Retail Sales
Even before its already successful "Gimme Shelter" wheeled luggage return program, which benefits nearly 100 homeless and women's shelters nationwide, winds down on March 31, 2005, travel gear innovator Eagle Creek is preparing to launch three new retail promotions aimed at raising consumer awareness and stimulating consumer trial of the 30-year-old brand's travel offerings.
Each promotion is slated for two-month periods between April and September. Between April and May, Eagle Creek introduces a rebate program for its Pack-It™ system, while in June and July, the travel gear maker promotes a new Brazilian trip giveaway. Eagle Creek then delivers an innovative rebate program in cooperation with Travelocity and Outside Magazine in August and September.

For the April and May 2005 promotion, Eagle Creek brings back its successful Pack-It™ Rebate promotion, which in 2004 stimulated much higher than anticipated product trial among travelers who had not previously purchased Eagle Creek. The Pack-It™ Rebate program, which includes all Pack-It™ system products, includes a tiered rebate program that delivers as high as $25 rebates to consumers.
Brazilian trip give-aways are the focal point of Eagle Creek's June and July 2005 sweepstakes promotion. The sweepstakes, which builds on the company's successful Australian Outback trip give-away of 2004, offers both consumers and top-performing retail sales associates, the chance to win one of two all-expenses paid trips for two to Brazil.
For its innovative fall promotion, Eagle Creek has joined forces with the world leader in travel commerce, Travelocity.com, and award-winning active lifestyle magazine Outside. In the promotion, every person who purchases a round-trip ticket on Travelocity.com during August and September 2005 will receive a $25 rebate certificate. The certificate is good toward the purchase of any Eagle Creek product(s) with a minimum total value of $150 U.S. or more. The promotion will be promoted at Travelocity.com, Eagle Creek and in Outside Magazine.
Merchandising kits and promotional assets for each program will be available at Eagle Creek's support site for dealers: http://support.eaglecreek.com. Participating retailers nationwide will have access to a range of promotional merchandising kits including such items as display advertising, posters, rack inserts, entry forms and boxes, to drive consumer interest in the three new promotions.
