Product Spotlight: Eagle Creek 2-in-1 Ultra-Lights

Product Spotlight: Eagle Creek 2-in-1 Ultra-Lights

Looking for a day bag that’s ultra-versatile, ultra-light, and packable?

Eagle Creek’s 2-in-1 Ultra-Lights offer more function, more benefit, and more value. Every Ultra-Light expands AND converts into a second bag. In this Product Spotlight, we asked Eagle Creek Designer, Seth, to share a bit more about what makes the 2-in-1 Ultra-Lights the must-buy bag for 2014.

Explain the concept of the 2-in-1 Ultra-Lights.

When traveling, it is often ideal to have a variety of bags to suit the ever-changing needs along the trip; however, space is limited and bringing more that one companion bag is not realistic.  Often times while traveling, we do not need a big bag for day use. We need something to store small items for quick access; therefore, we set out to outfit travelers with the most versatile, lightweight and compact solution possible.  As the solution, we developed a number of 2-in-1 Ultra-Light styles that are incredibly versatile.  All styles are packable (they can be stuffed into a pocket on the bag), transformable from one style bag to another, and expandable allowing the user to expand or reduce the capacity based on need. It’s been exciting to hear all the positive feedback from travelers that are using the 2-in-1 Ultra-Lights on their adventures. I recommend that every traveler check them out.

What inspired you to create the 2-in-1 Ultra-Lights?

Eagle Creek had created a style in the past called the "Stow Away". The Stow Away was similar to the 2-in-1 Backpack/Waistpack, but it was constructed out of a heavy material and was not packable. We used that design as inspiration for developing the 2-in-1s Ultra-Lights. Our goal was to infuse a convertible style with the advantages of lightweight construction and packability.

What is the benefit of a 2-in-1 Ultra-Light over a traditional day bag?

Versatility of style and capacity as well as lightweight! Ultra-Lights are the perfect travel companion.

What 2 ultralights would you recommend and why?

I love them all; however, I think two of the best styles for travel are the 2-in-1 Tote/Backpack and the 2-in-1 Backpack/Duffel.  I picked these two because of their versatility and the dramatic change of capacity due to the morphing expansion.
