This is the best bag I ever had! When I take a plane I just use this as a carry on luggage. The major advantage is that it's light so I don't have to worry about putting in too much clothes and it fits everything I need. On the other hand, some other wheel bags are so heavy by themselves that as soon as you put in 3 things they already reach the allowed weight. Also the material is very flexible so I don't have problems if I need to squeeze it in an odd shaped space. I really like that you can arrange the space inside as you wish, with either 3 small compartments or a large one. Finally, the back straps are so comfortable that I don't have problems carrying it around... and when I don't need the straps they just disappear inside the bag.

I have two small children which are always a bit difficult to handle while traveling. We live in Jakarta and have been traveling all over SE Asia, Australia and New Zealand plus long hauls bag to the US. With the variety of ways to configure and carry the bag we are happy to haul the bag around, shuffle through third world backwater docks, stow in camper vans traveling New Zealand and live out of the top compartments in The Oberoi Villas in Lombok. The bag has been stylish and rugged and we plan to purchase more for our travels. The convertabrief is also much nicer to carry via backpack when rushing through security and wrangling kids in line. It's not all totally perfect though. Bulky items such as power cubes and any camera that you want to pack into the Convertabrief quickly bulges it out like a tumor. I also wish the restraints in the base of the Gear bag were more customizable. I don't carry a fly rod so having straps for that aren't very functional. Otherwise I am a big fan and recommend the bag(s) we have to anyone planning to relocate to here or travel as much as we do.

The OVR Gear Bag is fantastic. I had the predecessor to the bag for many years, and would still have it had it not been stolen. The Gear Bag has taken up right where the old one left off. Just small enough to get on board the plane without complaints, and large enough to take all the clothing necessary for a week long conference. The external compression straps are great when your trying to get a fully loaded bag to look a little smaller. The material and craftsmanship are classic Eagle Creek...the thing is bullet proof, backed up by a lifetime guarantee. There are only two point where I would suggest changes. The first regards the pockets on the ends of the bag. As it stands now, they can only be reached by opening the bag's main zipper. It would be helpful to have an external zipper for one or both to facilitate quick/easy access. The other point regards how the bag sits on the ground. As it it now, the bag rests on the 'bottom' where the backpack straps are located, picking up whatever is on the ground and then depositing it on your back when you use the bag as a backpack. A change in design to have the bag rest on its side would be very nice. These two points aside, the bag is fantastic. IT goes with me everywhere and I don't anticipate that changing in the future.

This bag is great!! I used it on an African Safari that had weight limitation requirements. I was able to get all I needed plus some repacked articles of friends that would not fit in their bags. Very easy to organize in conjunction with pack-it-folders and compression bags. LOVE IT!!!

The orv gear bag that I have is amazing. It is so versatile and durable that I can carry it any way I need to and it is very good for the chronic overpacker. Very good materials, and straps. You can use it forever. I love it. Mona Cunningham

I first got this bag for a trip to India (6 weeks), it worked our great... I felt the bag was safe and theives did not have easy access into my bag (I used locks on zippers, and did not use small side pocket.) Also I LOVE the fact I can tuck away my straps, and not worry about them being stuck on some belt in the "behind the scenes" of the airports I was in. This bag was a comfy pillow on sketchy train rides, and can hold a lot more then one would think when looking at this bag. I also used this bag on a walk about in Australia for 4 months, though I was only on the move non stop for 2 of those 4 months, I felt it really held up. It still looks brand new! This bag is very comfortable on the back. Although I love this bag greatly, I am now searching for a bag that can hold more liters... as I am off to the UK for 6 months... but BECAUSE of this bag~ I am most likely going to shop with Eagle Creek for the new addition to my travel bag family. I strongly recommend this bag!

I took a job working in Iraq and my first reaction was to buy Eagle Creek luggage for the intensive travel I would be experiencing. I picked up the Load Warrior as my primary moving unit (taking personal belongings for living overseas). The Switchback was my R&R bag of choice so I always had an option to not check baggage but had something on wheels for long walks at the airport. This luggage has not failed me and looks like new after several trips through Frankfurt, Dubai, Gatwick, and several US airports. However neither bag was working for me when I had to take helicopter rides in the middle of the night for work in outlying areas. The ORV Gear bag was the perfect fit. I needed something I could carry across fields to heli pads (backstraps), was stiff enough to pack semi-organized (dividers are great) but act like a duffle for throwing on top of the passengers laps (no wheels and stiff back), big enough to carry personal needs for several days and needed work gear and laptop, but small enough to put in my lap on the chopper. The abuse it gets: thrown out of choppers, walked on, slept on, swung by any of the numerous holding points, etc. I am thrilled with all of my EC products, but this new addition will probably end up as a favorite. The hardest part will be deciding which bag to use for my 3 week trip to Costa Rica:-)
Thanks Eagle Creek!!
